About the Role
Appliance Distributors Unlimited (ADU) is seeking a reliable and motivated Appliance Install Assistant to support our installation team in Easton, MD. Since 1982, ADU has been the Mid-Atlantic's most trusted source for luxury kitchen and laundry appliances. This hands-on appliance installer role offers the opportunity to learn a skilled trade while assisting with delivering, handling, and installing high-end appliances in residential and commercial settings across the Eastern Shore and surrounding areas.
What You'll Do
- Assist with delivering and handling luxury appliances including refrigerators, dishwashers, ovens, washing machines, and dryers
- Perform installations of various high-end kitchen appliances in residential and commercial properties
- Safely load and unload appliances from trucks
- Transport large appliances and handle heavy loads up to 100 lbs independently
- Push, pull, lift, and move loads up to 1,000 pounds with assistance using straps, dollies, and team support
- Interact professionally with customers and team members to ensure high standards of professionalism
- Maintain a professional and clean work environment
- Perform frequent standing, walking, stooping, climbing, and crouching as required for appliance installation work
What You'll Need
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Department of Transportation (DOT) certification or ability to obtain upon hire
- Ability to pass background check and motor vehicle record (MVR) check
- Capacity to safely lift and move appliances up to 100 lbs independently
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 1–2 years of appliance installation or related field experience is a plus
- Basic mechanical skills and familiarity with hand and power tools
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and self-motivation
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in variable weather conditions
- Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Willingness to learn and grow in a hands-on trade
Compensation & Benefits
Pay: $18.00–$25.00 per hour based on experience. Benefits: Medical, dental, and vision insurance (eligible after 60 days); 401(k) retirement plan with company match up to 4% (eligible after 6 months); paid time off accrued (eligible after 90 days); paid holidays after 90 days including New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with overtime as needed based on project demands.
