Appliance Installation and Repair Technician

About the Role

Best Buy is hiring an Appliance Installation and Repair Technician in Burnsville, Minnesota to diagnose, repair, and install large appliances in customers' homes. This is a full-time position where you'll deliver exceptional in-home service experiences while managing routes, inventory, and complex technical work. As an appliance technician, you'll work independently or lead a two-person installation and repair crew to ensure customer satisfaction and operational profitability.

What You'll Do

• Travel to customers' homes to diagnose, disassemble, and repair large appliances and consumer electronics products
• Prepare products for repair in-home and perform triage to manage client expectations
• Manage routes, part orders, and returns to minimize costs and losses
• Keep work orders current and close orders accurately and timely
• Offer alternative solutions and de-escalate difficult customer interactions as needed
• Lead and provide training to two-person installation and repair crews
• Manage inventory and coordinate vehicle maintenance with team members
• Provide product advice and guidance to maximize customer experience

What You'll Need

• 6 months of experience delivering, installing, or repairing consumer electronic products
• 1 year of experience in a customer service or in-home services environment
• 1 year of experience in the electronics industry
• Active knowledge of home theater and appliance products
• Current, valid driver's license and driving record meeting Best Buy safety standards
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including holidays, nights, and weekends
• Must be at least 21 years old
• Ability to lift 75 pounds independently and up to 150 pounds with assistance
• State or local licensing as required, to be acquired within 90 days of hire
• Customer service experience with complex issue resolution preferred
