Appliance Installation and Repair Technician

About the Role

Best Buy is hiring an Appliance Installation and Repair Technician in Madison, WI to diagnose, repair, and install large appliances and home theater products in customers' homes. As an appliance technician, you'll deliver white glove service while managing complex repairs, troubleshooting device issues, and leading a two-person crew. This role, internally called a Repair Double Agent, combines technical expertise with customer service excellence to exceed expectations and maximize profitability.

What You'll Do

• Travel to customers' homes to prepare products for repair, diagnose issues, and perform disassembly and repair work
• Perform triage on appliance problems, manage client expectations, and maintain accurate work orders
• Manage routes, coordinate part orders and returns, and track inventory to minimize costs and losses
• Offer alternative solutions and de-escalate difficult customer interactions when needed
• Maintain vehicle and inventory in partnership with team members
• Provide feedback and training opportunities to crew members
• Close repair orders in a timely and accurate manner

What You'll Need

• 6 months of experience delivering, installing, or repairing consumer electronic products
• 1 year of experience in a customer service or in-home services environment
• 1 year of experience in the electronics industry
• Active knowledge and learning experience with home theater and appliance products
• Current, valid driver's license with a driving record meeting Best Buy safety standards
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including holidays, nights, and weekends
• Ability to lift 75 pounds independently and up to 150 pounds with assistance
• Must be at least 21 years old
• State or local licensing acquired and maintained as required within 90 days of hire
• Preferred: Customer service experience resolving complex issues
