Appliance Installation and Repair Technician

About the Role

Best Buy is hiring an Appliance Installation and Repair Technician in Mount Laurel, NJ to diagnose, repair, and install large appliances and home theater products in customer homes. As an appliance technician, you'll deliver exceptional service while managing complex repair jobs, troubleshooting device issues, and leading two-person installation crews. This role—internally known as a Repair Double Agent—combines hands-on technical expertise with customer service excellence to ensure every job exceeds expectations.

What You'll Do

• Travel to customers' homes to diagnose, disassemble, and repair large appliances and electronics
• Prepare customers' products for repair in the home environment
• Manage service routes, parts orders, and returns to control costs and minimize losses
• Perform triage on device issues, manage customer expectations, and maintain accurate work orders
• Lead a two-person crew and fulfill appointments individually as needed
• Offer alternative solutions when customers decline repairs
• Manage inventory and coordinate vehicle maintenance with team members
• Provide feedback and training opportunities to team members
• De-escalate difficult customer interactions and deliver advice on products and services

What You'll Need

• Active knowledge and hands-on experience with home theater and appliance products
• 6 months of experience delivering, installing, or repairing consumer electronic products
• 1 year of customer service or in-home services experience
• 1 year of experience in the electronics industry
• Current, valid driver's license with a driving record meeting Best Buy safety standards
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including holidays, nights, and weekends
• Must be at least 21 years old
• Capacity to lift 75 pounds independently and up to 150 pounds with assistance
• State or local licensing as required, to be acquired and maintained within 90 days of hire
• Preferred: experience resolving complex customer service issues

Compensation & Benefits

Competitive salary of approximately $59,963 per year.
