Appliance Installation and Repair Technician

About the Role

Best Buy USA is hiring an Appliance Installation and Repair Technician in Salem, Oregon. As an appliance installation and repair technician, you'll travel to customers' homes to diagnose, disassemble, and repair large appliances and consumer electronics products. This role combines technical expertise with exceptional customer service to deliver seamless in-home experiences and exceed customer expectations.

What You'll Do

• Travel to customers' homes to diagnose, disassemble, and repair appliances and home theater products
• Prepare customers' products for repair in the home and perform triage on device issues
• Manage service routes, coordinate part orders and returns to control costs and prevent losses
• Manage client expectations, maintain accurate work orders, and close orders in a timely manner
• Offer alternative solutions and de-escalate difficult client interactions as needed
• Fulfill appointments both individually and as the leader of a two-person installation crew
• Manage inventory and vehicle maintenance in partnership with other team members
• Provide feedback and training opportunities to crew members

What You'll Need

• Active knowledge and hands-on experience with home theater and appliance products
• 6 months of experience delivering, installing, or repairing consumer electronic products
• 1 year of experience in customer service or in-home services environment
• 1 year of experience in the electronics industry
• Current, valid driver's license and ability to meet Best Buy safety standards for driving record
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including holidays, nights, and weekends
• Must be at least 21 years old
• Ability to lift 75 pounds independently and up to 150 pounds with assistance
• Willingness to acquire and maintain any state or local licensing as required within 90 days of hire
• Preferred: Customer service experience resolving complex issues
